April is Financial Wellness Month, so the UW-Stout Financial Wellness and Literacy Center is offering a financial tip every weekday during April! 🎉
Gas prices typically rise during warmer months due to refineries switching to fuel summer blends, which are more costly and drive up the price of crude oil. Here are some ways to save money at the pump:
Drive less. Only go places that you absolutely need to go.
Carpool.
Take public transportation.
Ride your bike.
Plan your trips efficiently.
Download gas comparison apps such as GasBuddy.
Remove excess weight from your vehicle.
Ensure that your tires are inflated to the optimal PSI (find it on your tire).
Enroll in gas rewards programs such as with Kwik Trip, Fleet Farm, Super America, etc.
Fill-up on Mondays when gas prices are lowest. Avoid filling up on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays which tend to be when gas prices are highest.
If you would like to discuss any of these tips or any other financial topic, you are welcome to make a virtual or in-person appointment. Also, check out the many free resources on display by our partners in the library! Schedule to meet with the Financial Wellness and Literacy Center here.
